Chef’s Note: Ignoring the obvious question of what, in fact, goes into Fimbulvinter Pie, I’d like to just point out the stunning admission by the immortal God of Thunder that he was bested by an ordinary, presumably mortal, lobster.
In Norse mythology, Fimbulvetr (or fimbulvinter), commonly rendered in English as Fimbulwinter, is the immediate prelude to the events of Ragnarök. It means “great winter.”
Chef’s Note: What does “we have made such pastries ready, and have done so… with vigor” mean exactly?
Chef’s Note: Thor is maybe possibly wearing traditional checked chef’s pants? Hmm… but his complete lack of shirt, jacket, toque &/or hairnet are definitely not part of a traditional chef’s uniform at all, so maybe I’m wrong about the pants.
The Hulk, however, is quite traditionally (& may I say quite stylishly) garbed in shiny metal armor pants, which bus boys have been wearing since forever.*
Chef’s Note: Happy Pi Day!
