Chef’s Note: While I want to commend Juan Jin on championing a member of one of the most disrespected and dangerous professions of all time, it must be said that this scene is rife with confusion.
“Never seen an Asian guy eat a pizza?” Hermano Juan, what in the world are you talking about?
And too, other Juan (Juan Jin): are you seriously not going to prove this well-meaning doofus wrong and accept his offer of free pizza? Who refuses free pizza??
And also, again I’m looking at you Juan Jin: your Hermano Juan is riding a literal bicycle! He cannot drive you anywhere. I know you just saved him some dinero, and did so in a stylin’ and bad-ass way, but that’s still asking too much of someone you just met.
Chef’s Note: I believe the “Italian restaurant in Hong Kong” that Juan Jin never went to, given that this all happens in the 1970s, must be La Taverna.
