Chef’s Note: Sometimes it takes a moment to figure out what’s going on in a comic book. Here we have Scott and Emma enjoying some breakfast together but, almost immediately, things seem slightly off.
First, we have Scott being quite chill and relaxed – not his usual mode. And Emma is apparently going to forgo some self-care because an orphan child somehow needs her? Also weird and not her usual self-centered style.
But the height of surreality, and the certain confirmation of this being an alternate reality, is Emma Frost accepting a Pop Tart of all things, as if it were the most normal thing in the world for her to eat.
Also: what is this thing they are calling a Pop Tart?
Sure looks a lot like plain old brown toast to me.

And yes, it is true that in an earlier, darker age, unfrosted Pop Tarts were sometimes eaten. Even then, they at least looked like this:
If Mr. Bendis or Mr. Coipel would care to resolve this culinary confusion, it would be most appreciated, thank you. Either of you can leave a comment here or, if necessary, message me directly.
