Chef’s Note: Happy Shrove Tuesday, a.k.a. Mardi Gras, a.k.a. Holy Day of Eating Pancakes.
Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday (the first day of Lent), celebrated in some Christian countries by consuming pancakes; in others, especially those where it is called Mardi Gras or a translation thereof, it is a carnival day, the last day of “fat eating” or “gorging” before the fasting period of Lent.
Chef’s Note: I love hot noodles for breakfast – don’t know what Ricker’s on about. That said, he utilizes the “one bite” strategy quite deftly, so kudos. Does he ever get thanked for saving the world and all of creation?
Chef’s Note: Pancakes (a.k.a. Pam-cakes), while verry tasty, do not, according to the FDA*, possess any Apocalypse-averting properties.
* Protestations from the BPRD, notwithstanding. Both General Norton Ricker and Professor Trevor Bruttenholm could not be reached for comment at this time.
