Chef’s Note: For those not familiar, a Spider Roll is indeed a kind of sushi that, thankfully to all the gods, does not involve actual spiders.
Chef’s Note: I’m curious as to how many eateries Spider-Man has earned a free meal ticket with?
Superheroes, in general, do not get paid. But all-you-can-eat at a good restaurant seems like the next best thing. Save enough restaurants and you might not have to make food for yourself for quite some time.
For someone who grew up eating wheatcakes, that must seem like a dream come true.
Chef’s note: Speaking of eateries, Sushibuck’s is not a real restaurant. I’m assuming it’s a nod toward Starbucks … I guess? There are other “jokes” happening here with store signs (one of which has not aged well) so this seems the most reasonable, yet disappointing, explanation.
Chef’s Note: It may seem that Nico is being overtly and unreasonably hostile here when she demands “Drop the chopsticks, pal!” Actually, she’s just being a traditional stickler about sushi etiquette:
