Chef’s Note: The fact that Amadeus is fantasizing about eating kalbi jim (a.k.a. Galbi Jjim) while his mouth is literally stuffed full of ramen is, in so many ways, just perfect.
And if you’re wondering why then you should find this story and read it, because it’s a good one. I’ll just say that if Amadeus would pay attention to what’s right in front of him, his life would be a lot easier. Which is pretty much true of all of us.

There are many many brands of ramen/instant noodles, so it seems a bit of a daunting task at first blush. Still we have some information to work with here.
First, we know Amadeus is Korean American, so it is possible, indeed likely, that he leans towards Korean brands – that narrows it a bit.
What really gives it away is the little cartoon bird on fire on the label, because anyone familiar with Korean ramen will instantly recognize Hochi, the mascot of the very popular Samyang Foods Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen!

There is an ingredients label on the bowl – this is packaged ramen styrofoam bowl.
What brand is this? It is familiar?
