Chef’s Note: “We only serve steak?” Is that the best you can do? Spaghetti & meatballs is right on the sign in the window, not to mention seafood. As a henchman, I really feel like you need to take a refresher course on snappy retorts.
That said, what I love about this scene is that what gets placed at the forefront is the argument between Joseph and his Nonna about adding garlic at the end of cooking “the gravy” – old world tradition squabbling with new world innovation – all while Peggy and Daniel are systematically wrecking the joint in the background.
Chef’s Note: And then we get treated to Nonna Manfredi serving up some delightfully quaint old world hospitality- Malocchio!
As we have noted here before: don’t mess with little old ladies.
