Chef’s Note: First of all, I am in complete agreement with Kamala – the Red Daggers hideout game is most definitely on point! Very strong!
Old-school Chinese restaurant as a front, hot & sour soup and other to-go goodies waiting upon entry, swinging beaded curtain followed by super cool secret door behind a rolling oven(!?!), glowing corridors leading to high-vaulted rooms full of ornate and beautiful designs – what more could you want in a secret lair?
All that said, Kareem: why do you come out swinging? Do you really think Kamala has anything to do with the whitewashing* of Chinese food in America, which has been going on since the mid-1800s?
And too, are you really going to get prescriptive about Hot & Sour soup?
My brother, that is the way of folly. If you think Kamala’s cute, just be yourself. You’re quite the dapper gentleman, you have a dope hangout with a full pantry, and you’re covered in cool knives! Negging isn’t going to do you any favors.
* Note: Not to be confused with whitewash (though, of course, a whitewash could be used with a hot & sour soup to good effect).
