Chef’s Note: This is the first appearance of Naftali in Ms. Marvel. We know nothing about him but his character as a friend and good person is immediately established by his mission: to deliver an utterly epic & completely kosher Hoagie sandwich to Kamala (or be mildly inconvenienced trying).

You might be wondering why Naftali, a Jew, would be bringing a kosher Hoagie to Kamala, a Muslim?
Generally speaking, the rules of kosher food preparation are quite similar to (and in many ways much stricter than) the rules of halal food preparation. As such, many Muslims feel that kosher food is as ritually acceptable as halal food.
