Chef’s Note: You may have noticed that many scenes involving superheroes eating food show them indulging in fast food fare. Enough that I would say it has become a legitimate trope. This seems quite appropriate, given that comic books are a uniquely American invention and so is fast food (as we know it today).
And too, superhuman abilities is one of the enduring appeals of superheroes. Flight is an amazing ability to have. So is super strength. But to be able to eat whatever you want and however much you want and still come out looking like Kara Danvers or Barry Allen? This is truly power without consequence or responsibility – the ultimate dream.
Chef’s Note: While it is true that the burgers* at Big Belly Burger do appear to be delicious, that jingle is about as awful as the Bat Burger slogan. Why would they include a bouncing ball? Who would ever want to sing along with that?
