Chef’s Note: Those of you following this scholarly endeavor know that I have lamented more than once that comic book creators do not care about the needs of comic book food archaeologists. My overall experience in this field tends to confirm this notion.
That said, every now & then, one comes across something like X-Men #4 (2019). Not only is the whole issue focused on a meal, we also get that rarest of things in the world of comic book food studies, the grail of grails: a clearly presented menu!
A very professional thank you to Mr. Hickman. Please continue with your [takes deep breath] comic book food archaeologist friendly ways!
Chef’s Note: Where are they eating? Quite a good question! My first thought was of Studio Grigio – it is an elite and elegant establishment that has been serving the WEF in Davos for some time. But the more I considered it, I realized that such an attendance roster would likely require a non-public and highly secure venue. We will likely never know.
That said, if anyone recognizes that room, please let me know!
Chef’s Note: Happy National Gazpacho Day!
