Chef’s Note: The obvious question here, of course, is what kind of soup is Thanos making? We see him add salt but are not offered a peek of what’s in the kettle.
Earlier we see him come in from his garden with a sack full of what appear to be horned melons (though on Earth they grow from vines instead of like thistleblooms here).
While there are many different ways to enjoy horned melons, they are very rarely cooked in any way as it affects their distinctive flavor.
Then again, perhaps it’s not salt that is added, maybe it’s not soup at all. Could it be sugar? Could Thanos be making jam?
Of course, the melons might be for another meal entirely so we will never know. Especially since (spoiler!) he gets his head cut off a few moments later. Ah well…
The one thing I do know is that whatever it is Thanos is making, the recipe probably calls for a half cup of everything.*
