Chef’s Note: In terms of superheroes there are few as hard-drinking as Jessica Jones.
And the reason for her drinking so hard is pretty clear. She isn’t partying, she isn’t having a good time – she’s drowning a severe case of PTSD in enough strong spirits hoping to make it go away, even if only for a little while.
Like most functioning alcoholics she will partake of whatever alcohol is within reach, but she has a particular favorite: bourbon.
Forbes calculates that Jones spent about $664. 77 on booze in the first season. We tallied the number of bottles Jones finished and the ones discarded throughout her apartment then checked prices on retail websites and called local liquor stores in her neighborhood Hell’s Kitchen. When labels were not clearly displayed, we used the value of a matching sized bottle of Jim Beam, Jones’ preferred brand of booze.
