Chef’s Note: As a scholar who tries to maintain at least a certain degree of objectivity I do not usually support or condone subjective judgment of other’s food choices, a.k.a. food shaming.
That said, Hal is not making a good case for himself here. How can he defend and, indeed, choose the monstrosity that is his sandwich, especially given that Glazed Mungtor (sp?) looks an awful lot like soft shelled crab.
Hal’s sandw ich is supposed to be a grilled cheese sandwich, one of the most glorious culinary achievements in the history of humanity, despite what one might say about cheese-
It is curdled lacteal milk from a female bovine species on earth.
Instead, it’s some kind of bouncy, floppy, spongy slab of I don’t even know… how did it get that way? Did he microwave it? Look at it!!
There is no crisp, no melt, no crunch, no toast – no nothing. It’s just wrong and Kilowog is right – it should only be eaten in a dark closet, hidden away from all decent folk.
