Chef’s Note: I had a helpful reader (Hi Bob B.!) contact me recently to point out that I had not yet cataloged one of the more long-standing and well-known superhero food preferences: Superman and Beef Bourguignon! And they are most correct. I am not sure why I have not done so earlier.
Perhaps it is precisely because it is so well-known that I did not think to address it? That coupled with the fact that Superman studies are admittedly not my forte. In any case, other stalwart comic book scholars have done the job of documenting this culinary element of superhero-dom quite nicely before me, so thankfully I can just refer you to them.
Chef’s Note: FYI: Kal-El is also fond of something called “Roast Babootch”, which you can apparently fake with a couple of pork chops.
Chef’s Note: Happy National Beef Stew Day!
