Chef’s Note: Yes, it’s yet another entry in the Superheroes Stealing Food index. This gives a whole new spin to the standard dine & dash – instead it’s dash & dine!
That said, while this is definitely an example of gotten around payin’, one can see that there are some mitigating circumstances here.
To wit: they all just escaped from an evil government-run institution where they were experimented upon and abused, none of them have been left with any legal tender because of this, barely any clothes in fact, each is experiencing unstable and sometimes painful power manifestations, and one of them is about to go into a diabetic coma – this definitely seems like a moment where hunger and need overrule societal standards.
Except then Scuzz goes back to do… what? Rub it all in? To the poor minimum-wage workers who may just end up paying for it all? Then again, his chosen name is “Scuzz” so we should probably temper any expectations of upstanding behavior.
Chef’s Note: This is quite a peek into history – amazing to hear that this enormous order only totals $158.60!
