Chef’s Note: I fail to understand either Joe’s look of disapproval or the other Judge’s facepalm.
It is clear that Judge Foodie possesses high-level inductive reasoning skills, bolstered by a detailed knowledge of fine cuisine. Why wouldn’t all of this be of use to a criminal investigation, especially one happening in a restaurant?
Of course, the real question is how she knew it was specifically Puttanesca sauce, and so quickly? I can see someone being able to visually discern that it was pasta sauce instead of blood, but knowing the actual ingredients?
Unless she has extraordinary olafactory abilities, I think it’s clear that she tasted the sauce to confirm her conclusion.
Maybe that’s why Joe is looking more disgusted than usual?
Still, when you think about it, going to such lengths really shows a deep level of commitment to her job. So, you can just stop making those grumblecakes, Joe!
